Insights / Kit guide
A housing Kit provides the mechanical and optical platform of a luminaire while leaving the COB module and LED driver open to your specification.
Housing platform
KAIFON uses “housing Kit” for the mechanical, optical and thermal parts supplied for assembly. Buyers may describe this as an LED spotlight housing or a lighting fixture Kit, and may search for it as “LED housing without driver”.
The separation is deliberate: your approved light source, driver, regional electrical requirements and service strategy remain under your control. The itemized component list on each product page is the controlling description of what is supplied.

Who buys Kits
The Kit route keeps the supplied housing platform separate from the buyer-controlled light-engine bill of materials.
For teams that maintain an approved COB and driver bill of materials.
For factories that integrate and test the electronics in their own production flow.
For requirements where the light source, driver, dimming protocol or regional electrical standard must be specified.
Choose the supply path
Both paths begin with the same product page. The difference is who integrates the light-engine components.

| Decision | Kit sample | Full Set sample |
|---|---|---|
| Supplied scope | Housing and the model-specific mechanical and optical parts listed on the product page. | Kit components plus COB module, LED driver and COB holder configured to the agreed requirement. |
| Your decisions | Integrate your own light engine and driver. | State preferred COB and driver brands, CCT, beam angle and project notes. |

Configuration process
Choose the housing model and its required housing options.
Select either the Kit path or the Full Set upgrade.
For a Full Set, choose from the product-specific COB and driver options and state the required CCT, beam angle and notes.
KAIFON reviews the requested configuration and confirms availability and quotation details.
Brand options are product-specific starting points. The exact part selection and electrical requirements are confirmed with the quotation.
Terminology
SKD and CKD are widely used assembly and trade terms, but their exact scope can vary by supplier, product and customs treatment. In SKD lighting discussions, the same acronym may describe different component splits.
KAIFON therefore uses the itemized component list on each product page as the controlling description. Confirm the final supplied scope and commercial terms before proceeding.
